So here is an idea I have been toying with, but frankly I do not know if it will make it into the final game.
I'm excited by it and I still have to do some investigation to see how it would work technically.
We have a grimoire full of undead minions. We have zombies, footman, archers, etc. We're going to allow the player to upgrade their minions by undead class e.g. footman, zombie, etc.
But we're necromancers here guys. We not grossed out by walking corpses so it stands to reason we would not be squeamish around a bone saw, right?
As masters of the dead would we be happy to take a zombie at it's default form or would we feel compelled to make our own adjustments.
Enter the concept or flesh crafting. The player should be able to pick up body parts and literally build their minions.
Here's how it works (in list form!):
You can already see the possibilities that a system like this provides. Consider that you could have a zombie with a Skinny Torso of Shocking, Average Head of Confusion, Brutish Arms of Burning and Average Legs of Speed. Each body part might have a different texture/colour based on the combat effect e.g. burned/charred flesh for fire damage, poisonous green veins for poison damage, etc.
Every minion could be customised by the player and the undead horde can truly be shaped by the player's personal preference and play style.
What do you think? Is this a feature worth pursuing?

Here's how it works (in list form!):
- The player can pickup body parts from fallen enemies, chests, etc.
- These body parts are divided into categories i.e. Head, Torso, Arms, Legs.
- These body parts are divided further into undead classes and can only be applied to a minion of that class. For example, Zombie Arm cannot be applied to a Skeleton Footman
- Each body part can be of a scale type that determines the dimensions of the body part i.e. Frail (skinny without much flesh/muscle), Average (normal amount of flesh/muscle), Brutish (Huge amount of flesh/muscle). For example, Brutish Zombie Arm
- Each body part can optionally have a combat effect e.g. Shock, Fire, Poison, etc. For example, Brutish Zombie Arm of Burning.
- Each body part can optionally enhance statistics e.g. +2 bonus strength, +20% chance to resist shock, +3 bonus damage, etc.
